History
Four decades of engineering. One company built on it.
Olmech, LLC was founded by engineers who spent their careers on the inside of the world’s largest wire and cable operations — not advising from the outside. Our founding principal, Eugenio Urbina, began his engineering career in Mexico in the 1980s and went on to hold executive roles at Hitachi Cable Manchester, General Cable / Prysmian Group, Troester GmbH, and CEECO Machinery Manufacturing.
The name Olmech is rooted in Olmecatl — the Nahuatl word for “people of the rubber country.” The ancient Olmecs were the first civilization to master the processing of natural latex, creating the first rubber applications in history. Every member of our team is a proud Mexican engineer. Our name reflects both our heritage and our identity as specialists in rubber, polymer, and cable manufacturing — industries built on the very material that gave the Olmecs their name.

40+ years of progressive engineering leadership across wire & cable OEMs and cable manufacturers. Former Director of Engineering at Hitachi Cable Manchester, NH (US Patent #7,145,080). Former Sales & Operations Manager Americas at Troester GmbH. Former Engineering Team Leader at General Cable / Prysmian Group — recipient of the 2015 CEO Award, selected from 12,000 employees worldwide.
Specialties: CV line operations, extrusion process engineering, stranding and compounding, CAPEX project management, OEM technical sales.
